Tharntype The Series, Chapter 0.2: Tharn.

“What’s the matter with you, you’re so early.”

“Uh, nothing to do in the dorm.”

“If no one’s giving you some butt, just say so.”

I can only sigh, see my best friend jump over, grab his neck, put his hands on his shoulders, and walk away from him to the cafeteria, looking for something to eat for breakfast. My best friend Lhong, who’s been with me since high school, is still struggling with the past.

“You’re really going to live in the dormitory, I didn’t see you living on campus before, why do you want to live on campus, it’s okay to go back and forth between school and home.”

“I don’t care, really or not but I’m in it.” And then, with a shrug, I put my bag down next to the bench.

“Besides, roommates are okay.”

“A gymnast, huh?!”

“That’s all I said.” That’s all I said, walked over to the usual restaurant, ordered the usual breakfast, and stood there playing on my silent phone, thinking about my roommate.

I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to live in a school at first, frankly, I’m very clean, I can put up with anything except a mess, as I told my friends it’s because I’m too lazy to run back and forth, so I decided to live in a school and here I have more opportunities to practice.

Did I mention, I started drumming in high school and then when I got to college and wanted to go deeper, in the dorm, you could be in the building, which meant more time to practice and then the dorm was clean in many ways and like I said, I was very happy with my roommate.

When I first found out he was studying Sports sciences, I wasn’t sure but from what I’ve seen, he’s OK. The best part is that no matter how tired he is when he gets back to the dorm, the first thing he does is take a shower before he does anything else.

And by the way, my roommate is hot.

Type’s skin is not pale, maybe not as white as my mixed race but it’s pretty, the most prominent part is his eyes.

“Aw, Tharn, we both eat at the same place every morning.” I followed the sound, saw the senior smiling, I choked on my words, and saw the slender ex with the bass bag on his shoulder.

Yeah, he’s a boy.

“Yeah,” I answered honestly and looked down at my phone, not that I didn’t want to talk, it’s just that we had a bad breakup and it was just as I was finishing breakfast, so I paid my bill, went back to my seat and Lhong was still staring at my ex.

“It looks like he is grinding for a get back together

“Boring,” I answered briefly, then started eating, my friend pointed and laughed, then started being mean again.

“Boring as it sounds, you better watch out, every one of your former plaintiffs will be fighting each other for a while, I wouldn’t be surprised if one day they fight over you, oh and watch out for your roommate, every day with you, watch out for your exes tearing him apart.”

“He’s normal.”

“Huh.”  my friend whispered, so I looked up at him.

“My roommate is straight.”

Yeah, I’m gay.

But then my friend burst out laughing and the conversation changed.

“But Tharn, you’re so good you can’t bend a guy?” I sighed heavily and dealing with straight men, there are several outcomes but most, or most importantly, I ended up with a bruised face.

But the worst part is, I’ll probably make it so straight guys can’t hug women anymore.

That’s what I don’t want to happen.

“You know I don’t play straight anymore.” I’d shrug my shoulders and go back to eating, if it weren’t for my friend’s t-ongue-splitting, head-over-heels, incessant questioning.

“I heard your roommate hates gay.”

I flinched, then shook my head.

I heard, I acted normal, didn’t show too much and I swore I’d never hang out with a straight guy again.

So, I’m definitely not a Type.

“As long as he doesn’t know, it’s okay.”

I said that and acted as if it didn’t matter and in my head I forced myself to be obsessed with music but I couldn’t deny that there could be accidents in being in the same room with someone and I wanted to control myself but what to do, I didn’t want to complicate things.

I’m not sure but what happens when someone who hates gay is living in the same dorm as a gay?
